Gong Integration — Ideas

How the Gong Autopilot source works when Canny Ideas is enabled — Autopilot creates Ideas instead of portal feedback.

Written by Canny

Overview

Gong is an Autopilot source that processes call transcripts. Autopilot creates ideas on your Ideas dashboard and attaches the relevant transcript segment as an Insight.

The Gong integration is available on all plans, including Free. It does not count toward integration limits.

Connecting the integration

Go to Settings → Gong, click Install Gong, and accept the permissions. Then confirm Gong is enabled as an Autopilot source.

Source filters

You can filter which Gong calls Autopilot processes by workspace, keyword tracker, and/or smart tracker from the Gong settings page in Canny. Smart trackers are Gong's AI-powered trackers, so you can qualify calls by theme or topic rather than exact keyword matches. Smart trackers load from your recent call data, so you'll need at least one Gong call in the past four weeks for the list to populate. If you already have Gong connected, you'll need to reinstall the integration to access this feature.

How it works

Autopilot processes Gong transcripts and surfaces identified requests in the Autopilot inbox. Approving a suggestion:

  • Creates a new idea on your Ideas dashboard.

  • Attaches the relevant transcript segment as an Insight on that idea.

  • Does not publish anything to your portal or notify any end-user.

See Autopilot — Ideas for full details.

Things to note

  • Ideas created via Autopilot are internal by default and are not published to the portal unless you manually publish them.

  • Calls must be recorded to the cloud for Canny to access the transcript.
