Why the changes?

First off, it has been over four years since our last adjustment to pricing, and a lot has changed in that time.

Secondly, here at Canny, we want to make sure we're providing a robust toolset for our larger customers without leaving smaller teams high and dry.

With that in mind, we are revising our prices to offer more flexibility and predictability starting on April 20th, 2022.

What's changing?

Let's go into a bit more detail on the major updates:

No more tracked user limits!

That's right, no more caps on how many people can give you feedback!

The Free plan is replacing the $50/mo Starter plan

The new Free plan is ideal for smaller teams using Canny for basic feedback tracking and roadmapping.

What's changed from Starter to Free?

  • The Free plan has access to many integrations but you can only have one installed at a time. Two or more integrations will require the Growth plan.

  • Only one roadmap is permitted on the Free plan.

  • The Zapier integration will require the Growth plan.

The Growth plan now starts at $400/mo

Yes, it is a significant increase, but the Free plan means that most smaller teams will be able to move down and save big. The Growth plan is suitable for teams with more complex workflows. The new Growth plan includes most of our power features, unlimited integrations, and Growth plan users will no longer be charged for tracked users.

Growth annual pricing now starts at $4,320/yr

Again, this is a pretty big increase, but we are going to be offering a $500 discount to existing Growth annual accounts at their next renewal. This will be applied automatically. Each additional Owner/Manager admin after 5 will be billed at $432/yr.

Changes to admin limits

The Growth and Business plan have differing limits on the number of Canny admins included and the cost per additional admin. Note that these limits apply only to the Owner and Manager roles. Contributors are unlimited. (see below)

Unlimited Contributors

The contributor role is great for customer-facing teammates (support, sales, etc.) that need to log feedback in Canny. They have permissions limited to:

  1. Create a post/vote on behalf of a user.

  2. Delete posts they authored.
    (They cannot delete a post they created on a user's behalf).

  3. Create internal comments.

  4. Create public comments as an admin.
    (i.e. All voters will be notified about that comment).

Changes to discounts

Since tracked users are now unlimited, B2C (Business-to-Consumer) companies on Canny will no longer receive discounts. Educational, healthcare, non-profit, early-stage, and open-source discounts are still available for qualified companies.
