Google Meet integration

Connect Google Meet as an Autopilot source so feedback from call transcripts becomes ideas automatically.

Written by Canny

Overview

Google Meet is an Autopilot source that finds feedback call transcripts. Autopilot creates ideas and attaches the relevant transcript snippet as an Insight.

Connecting the integration

Setting up Google Meet takes a few steps and needs a Google Workspace admin.

  1. A Google Workspace super admin installs Canny for Google Meet from the Google Workspace Marketplace.

  2. In Canny, go to Settings → Google Meet and click Sign in with Google. A Workspace admin needs to do this step.

  3. Select up to 10 Google Groups whose calls Autopilot should process, like sales or customer success, then click Save.

Source filters

Autopilot only processes calls from the Google Groups you select on the Google Meet settings page. You can select up to 10 groups, like your sales or customer success teams, to focus on the conversations most likely to hold product feedback. To change your selection later, return to the same settings page.

How it works

Autopilot processes Google Meet transcripts and surfaces identified requests in the Autopilot inbox. Approving a suggestion:

  • Creates a new idea on your Ideas dashboard.

  • Attaches the relevant transcript segment as an Insight on that idea.

  • Does not publish anything to your portal or notify any end-user.

See Autopilot to learn more.

Things to note

  • If you don't select any Google Groups, nothing syncs, even when the integration is enabled.

  • Transcription must be enabled in Google Meet for a call to sync. Calls without a transcript are skipped.

  • Ideas created via Autopilot are internal by default and are not published to the portal unless you manually publish them.
