Overview
Zoom is an Autopilot source that processes call transcripts. Autopilot creates ideas on your Ideas dashboard and attaches the relevant transcript segment as an Insight.
The Zoom integration is available on all plans, including Free. It does not count toward integration limits.
Setting up the integration
Go to the Zoom settings page in Canny and click Install Zoom.
Accept the permissions.
In Zoom, the Create audio transcript setting must also be enabled for Canny to access transcripts.
How it works
Autopilot processes Zoom transcripts and surfaces identified requests in the Autopilot inbox. Approving a suggestion:
Creates a new idea on your Ideas dashboard.
Attaches the relevant transcript segment as an Insight on that idea.
Does not publish anything to your portal or notify any end-user.
See Autopilot for full details.
Removing the Zoom integration
Zoom can be disabled as a source or fully disconnected at any time. Any Autopilot suggestions generated before the source is disabled remain in Canny. Disconnecting is done from Zoom:
Log in to your Zoom account and go to the Zoom App Marketplace.
Click Manage → Added Apps, or search for the Canny app.
Open the Canny app and click Remove.
Things to note
Calls must be recorded to the cloud for Canny to access the transcript.
A Zoom Pro or Business subscription is required. The Autopilot source will not work on Zoom's Free plan.
The Create audio transcript setting must be enabled in Zoom for Canny to access audio transcripts.
When first connected, Autopilot reviews transcripts from the previous 30 days.
Ideas created via Autopilot are internal by default and are not published to the portal unless you manually publish them.
Using a legacy version of Canny?
Canny Ideas is now the default experience. If your workspace is still on the legacy Canny experience (before Ideas), Autopilot turns Zoom transcripts into posts instead of ideas:
Detected feature requests become new posts, and duplicates are added as votes (with a transcript-based comment) on existing posts.
On legacy plans, each Zoom transcript processed uses 5 Autopilot credits.
