How it works

This will be a phased rollout, one step at a time. We will begin by translating only the user-generated content. Strings that are part of the Canny product will still be in English for now.

By default, Canny will rely on your browser's default language setting to translate content.

Public view for end-users

Below is an example of which strings will and will not be translated. Green indicates user-generated translatable content. Red indicates Canny product strings that will be in English:

End-users will also see an option to override the browser language in their Canny settings:

Internal view for Canny admins

User-generated content will also be translated on the admin side of things. This means your users who speak a different language can post in their native language, and you get to see it in yours.

Again, for now, this is only user-generated content. Below, all text in Green will be translated, but all text in Red will not:

Again, Canny product strings will be translated soon. This is just the initial phase.
