How to unlock Canny's free plan and why it benefits you

Overview

To unlock the Canny Free plan, you'll need to complete a few onboarding steps within your first 7 days.

These steps serve two purposes: they protect Canny from spam and ensure you're properly set up to use the platform effectively. We'll explain more about this below.

If you need more time after the initial 7-day period, you can request an extension by starting a chat with support or emailing us at support@canny.io. Afterward, you'll also have the option to skip the onboarding steps altogether.

How to unlock Canny Free

Click the "Set up Canny" banner to view the remaining steps for unlocking the Free plan. Once you complete these steps, you'll have full access to the Free plan.

When the onboarding steps aren't completed before the time limit, you'll need to either upgrade to a paid plan through the Billing page in your general settings or contact Canny support.


Things to note:

  • Google Analytics does NOT count as an integration.

    • Since Google Analytics is considered a basic utility, it doesn't count toward your integration limit in Canny. Free and Starter plan users can connect Google Analytics without that counting against their available integrations.

  • The "Collect feedback" step is completed when you have feedback from 5 separate participants.

Extending and skipping the onboarding steps

If you need more time beyond the initial 7-day period, Canny offers an extension option.

After extending, you'll see the option to skip onboarding steps when you first log in to Canny:
