Overview
Link Canny posts with Linear issues to automatically update the post statuses based on Linear updates. This will work with Canny Portal or Canny Ideas.

How to set it up
Before you begin
Owner-level admin permissions in Canny are required to connect the integration.
You will also need admin access in Linear.
Installing Linear
From the Linear settings page in Canny, click on "Install Linear" and give Canny access to your Linear workspace.
Your Linear account is now connected to Canny! Next step is to set up the rules to trigger Canny updates based on Linear events. See below on creating rules to sync statuses.
Creating rules to sync statuses
Set up rules from the Linear settings page in Canny so that updates in Linear will trigger updates in Canny:
Link Canny Ideas to Linear Issues
If your workspace uses Canny Ideas, you can link ideas directly to Linear issues and sync statuses between both platforms with status mapping.
Status mapping
Map Linear statuses to Canny Idea statuses from your Linear settings page in Canny. Available statuses are pulled from all teams and projects your connected Linear workspace has access to.
Linking rules
One-to-one: Each Idea can only be linked to one Linear issue.
Single company ownership: If the same Linear installation is connected to multiple Canny workspaces, only one workspace can link a specific issue to an Idea.
Merging ideas: If two Ideas are merged, the Linear link from the merged Idea will be removed.
Migrated data: In some cases, migration may create a one-to-many relationship between Ideas and issues. When this happens, status sync will be skipped.
To link an issue, open an idea from the Ideas tab and use the Linear section in the bottom right of the idea details panel.
Linking Linear issues to Canny posts
1. From the Feedback tab in Canny
The post sidebar now has a Linear section. From here, you can either create this Canny post as a new Linear issue OR link this Canny post to an existing Linear issue:
You can open the newly created issue in Linear by clicking on its name in the post sidebar.
2. From the admin roadmap
Push posts to Linear right from the admin roadmap by clicking the Linear logo. If a post is already linked, the logo will be filled in, and clicking will open that issue in Linear:
Unlink an issue
To unlink a issue, hover over the issue name on the post sidebar and click the "X" icon:
Things to note
You will only be able to make rules for public teams/projects in Linear.
Linear is available on the Pro (or legacy Starter or Growth) plan.
Linear can be used in conjunction with similar project management tools like Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, etc.
