How to set it up
Before you begin
Owner-level admin permissions in Canny are required to connect the integration.
You will also need to be an admin in Asana.
We recommend creating a "Canny" Asana user to authenticate the integration so updates from the integration show up as Canny instead of as your personal account.
Under your Asana settings in Canny, click on "Install Asana," grant the permissions, and select the Asana workspaces you want to connect to Canny.
That's it! Your Asana account is now connected to Canny.
Creating rules to sync statuses
Set up rules from the the Asana settings page in Canny so that updates in Asana will trigger updates in Canny:
The Asana status is coming from the fields you have set up on the Asana side:
Note: You will only be able to make rules based on custom Asana fields if you have a Premium or Business Asana plan.
Creating Asana tasks from Canny posts
Every Canny post now features a new "Asana Tasks" section in the post sidebar. To create a new Asana task, click on "Create new task", pick a Project. Optionally edit the task name and notes.
You can open the newly created task in Asana by clicking on its name in the post sidebar.
