Overview

Capture feedback, add a vote, and create internal comments from any website.

Benefits

  • No need to open Canny in a separate tab

  • Create feedback on a user’s behalf, including an internal comment

  • Quickly copy a URL to share with a user when their feedback is added

How to set up the Chrome extension

Note: Only those listed in the Admins page in your Canny settings have access to the Chrome extension (regardless of their admin role).

All you have to do is add the Chrome extension and log into Canny once it’s installed:

Adding feedback

To track feedback from any website, click on the extension, and fill in the post title and details. You can either create a new post or add a vote (along with an internal comment). You can create the post for yourself or on another person’s behalf.

Follow along in the gif below to see an example of adding someone’s vote from LinkedIn:

Things to note:

  • The Chrome extension is available only on the Growth and Business plans

  • If you have selected text on the website before opening the extension, the post details will be filled in automatically

  • When you create a post on someone’s behalf, their vote is added by default

  • In Canny, the vote will be linked to the website's URL where the feedback was initially tracked:
