In order to leave feedback, we require the user's name and email. This allows you to:
See which users are interested in which ideas (e.g. address the needs of your top paying customers vs. your prospective customers)
Reach out to get clarification on an idea (e.g. understand your customer use cases)
Follow up with the users that expressed interest in an idea (e.g. Let them know something is in progress & continue the feedback loop!)
At Canny, we believe the feedback isn't useful if you don't know where it's coming from. With Canny Identify (step 2), you can pass us their information so we can tie it back to your system.
Canny's User Segmentation function also helps you prioritize feedback by your most important user groups.
