How to set up the Chrome extension
Note: Only those listed in the Admins page in your Canny settings have access to the Chrome extension (regardless of their admin role).
All you have to do is add the Chrome extension and log into Canny once it’s installed:
Adding feedback
To track feedback from any website, click on the extension, and fill in the post title and details. You can either create a new post or add a vote (along with an internal comment). You can create the post for yourself or on another person’s behalf.

Using the Chrome extension with Canny Ideas
You can now add Ideas and Insights using the Chrome extension and choose whether it shows in the Portal.
Ensure you've add the Chrome extension similar to the above directions
Go to the Chrome extension settings that and choose to toggle on/off 'Send new Ideas to Portal'
From any website, click the extension and start typing the Idea - similar existing Ideas will show on the right side that you can select to add an Insight too. You can make the Idea/Insight as yourself or on behalf of another user/company.
Things to note:
The Chrome extension is available on all plans
The Chrome extension now also supports Dark Mode depending on your Canny settings!
If you have selected text on the website before opening the extension, the post details will be filled in automatically
If you have selected text on the website before opening the extension, the Insight details will be filled automatically
When you create a post on someone’s behalf, their vote is added by default
In Canny, the vote will be linked to the website's URL where the feedback was initially tracked:
