Setting up the Slack integration
Before you begin
Owner-level admin permissions in Canny are required to connect the integration.
You will also need to be an admin in Slack.
1. Go to the Slack page in your Canny settings
2. Click the "Add to Slack" button under the integration you want to install
3. Authorize Slack
For Feedback, that's it! You're done! π
For Notifications, you still have a couple more steps to go:

4. Choose which Slack #channel will receive your notifications:

That's it! If you want to add notifications to another channel, just repeat steps 2-4. β
Setting up DMs for account owners:
Send Canny the account owner email data via the SDK or integrations like Salesforce or HubSpot
Go to the Company fields tab in the Fields page of the Canny settings to configure the field mapping:
In the Slack page in your Canny settings, make sure the "Direct Message Notifications" setting is ON.
Disconnect Slack
You can remove the Slack integration by simply Disconnecting all feedback and direct message notifications and by deleting each indidividual notification set up below using the X on the right-hand side of the details:
Things to Note:
Slack is available on all plans.
Slack will count toward the integration limits on Free and Starter plans.
Any time you add a new board, you'll need to enable it in the Slack settings page in Canny to get notifications delivered.
Multiple instances of notifications can be set up
Anyone in your Slack community can use the
/canny
command to add feedback. You do not need to be listed as a Canny admin.Users will appear with aliases instead of real names on Canny when a private board is enabled.
Slack notifications will, by default, diplay real names for all posts across boards.
You can go to the Slack settings page in Canny to make notifications private (turn on aliases).
