Tags allow you to add another level of organization to your posts. Tags also make it easy to assign post owners among your team and identify areas of main concern.
Unlike categories, tags can only be managed and viewed by admins. Tags are not visible to your users.
Here are some examples of tags for your team:
Device (iOS, Android, Web)
Customer segment (VIP customers, students, freemium)
Effort (Quick win, long term, need resources)
Roadmap (Q4 2022, Q1 2023, Q2 2022)
How to set up tags
On a board, click on the tag settings. (You can also go to the Boards tab in your Canny settings.)
Then just start typing your tags! From here, you can also rename or delete any existing tags:
Once you've created a few tags, you can assign them to your posts. Tags can also be created from the main view on the Feedback page. Just start typing!:
You can also query posts by select tags:
Automatic Tagging
You can set up automation so posts are automatically tagged if specified words are found in the post. This is helpful for your team to be able to triage posts to the right people.
To set up an automation, head to your team's Automation settings. Create an automation rule by filling in the criteria.
Once the automation is live, new posts should be tagged based on your rules.
This is just the beginning for automation in Canny. Let us know what else you'd like to be able to automate!
Note: This feature is available for teams on Canny Growth and above.
As always, just let us know if you have any questions! π
