Overview
Tag your posts for easy organization.
Unlike categories, tags are only visible to admins. Tags are not visible to your users.
Creating & Managing Tags
Go to the Boards tab in your Canny settings and select the Tags section.
From there, select the board.
Each board has its own set of tags
You'll see the option to create a new tag at the bottom of the page. Just start typing!
From here, you can also rename or delete any existing tags. Just hover over a tag to see the options.
Using Tags
Once you've created a few tags, you can assign them to your posts:

Apply Tags in bulk
Multi-select posts to add Tags in bulk. Just hold down the Ctrl (โ on Mac) or Shift key in the feedback tab in Canny:
Filter by Tag using the left-hand panel:
Filter a list of all tagged posts using the left-hand filter panel:
Tags will also have their own column in the roadmap:
Here are some examples of tags:
Device-related (e.g. iOS, Android, Web)
Customers affected (e.g. VIP, Students, Freemium)
Effort (e.g. Quick Win, Long Term, Need Resources)
Timing (e.g. Q4, Fall, 2025)
Automatic Tagging
You can set up automation so posts are automatically tagged based on custom rules. To set up an automation, head to your team's Automation settings.
Once the automation is live, new posts will automatically be tagged accordingly. Automations are available for teams on Canny Growth and above.
